Ken Flower served as the head of the Rhodesian Central Intelligence Organization (C.I.O) during the crucial war years of the late 60's and 1970's. Under his leadership the intelligence service was a formidable and highly successful operation.
One of the lesser known facts about their operations was their formation, control and running of what was originally the MNR - the Mozambique National resistance. Later known as RENAMO.
This fascinating interview, recorded in 1988, record Flower telling how they formed the MNR as an intelligence unit to counter ZANU/ZANLA as well as FRELIMO. In March 1980 control was passed to the South African Intelligence.
In addition to providing details about the operation, he gives rare insights from his personal experiences in dealings with the Portuguese, President Machel and the South Africans.
