This fast moving adventure story is set on the north-eastern border of Rhodesia, where, after UDI in 1965, there is an outbreak of violence among the tribesmen. Agitators are behind the trouble and Inspector Saul Jenkins and Sergeant Ndhela are soon in the thick of it, trying to establish the troublemakers' identities.

Agraham Hale, an American missionary, attempts to remain uninvolved but cannot, especially when his beustiful daughter Dawn falls in love with Saul Jenkins.
The first book to ever put into historical fiction the story of the armed struggle that took place in Zimbabwe** in the 1960's. It became the must read book for all those serving in "The Valley" (Zambesi Valley) on counter insurgency operation. Commonly called "The War."
